COOKIES POLICY

Effective date: 20 October 2025

This page explains how Ride Southern Spain (“we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and how you can control them. We comply with the EU GDPR and Spanish ePrivacy rules.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site work (e.g., page navigation, security) and can also be used for analytics and marketing. We also use related technologies like local storage and pixels; we call them all “cookies” here.

How we use cookies (categories)

  • Strictly Necessary (always on): Enable core site functions such as security, page load, consent storage, and form submission. These don’t require consent.
  • Performance & Analytics (consent): Help us understand site traffic and improve content (aggregated stats).
  • Functionality (consent): Remember choices (language, region) to offer a more personal experience.
  • Marketing (consent): Measure campaign performance and show relevant content on our site or partners’ platforms.

You can change your choices at any time via Manage cookie preferences (see below).

Your choices

  • Accept/Reject: On your first visit you’ll see our cookie banner. You can Accept all, Reject non-essential, or Customise.
  • Change later: Use this link any time to update your choices.
  • Browser controls: You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings (see “How to control cookies via your browser” below). Blocking some cookies may affect site functionality.

What we set (examples)

(Exact names may vary by provider/CMP. Update this list to match your setup once live.)

  • Strictly Necessary (no consent required):
    • cookie_consent – remembers your consent choices (up to 12 months)
    • csrftoken / __secure-* – security and form protection (session – 12 months)
    • routing_session / sessionid – keeps you logged in across pages (session)
  • Performance & Analytics (consent):
    • _ga, ga* (Google Analytics 4) – anonymous site usage and page metrics (2–13 months)
    • _gid – short-term visit stats (24 hours)
  • Functionality (consent):
    • preferred_locale / site_settings – remembers language/region (1–12 months)
  • Marketing (consent):
    • _fbp (Meta) – measures ad performance (3 months)
    • _tt_enable_cookie / _ttp (TikTok) – measures ad performance (13 months)

Legal bases

  • Strictly Necessary: Legitimate interests (running a secure, functional website).
  • All other categories: Your consent. You can withdraw consent any time via Manage cookie preferences.

Cookie retention

We keep cookies only as long as needed for their purpose. Typical lifetimes: session, 24 hours, 3 months, 12–13 months. See examples above; your banner will show exact durations.

Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by third parties (e.g., analytics or marketing platforms). Your data is processed according to their privacy terms. Where data leaves the EEA, we rely on adequacy or Standard Contractual Clauses.

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer “Do Not Track” (DNT). There’s no common standard, but where possible we honour your consent choices recorded in the banner/CMP over DNT signals.

How to control cookies via your browser

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy & security → Cookies and site data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Block all cookies / Manage Website Data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Blocking Strictly Necessary cookies may break parts of the site.

Updates

We may update this Cookies Policy to reflect changes in technology, law, or our providers. The Effective date above shows the latest version. Major changes will be highlighted in the banner.
